Northport-East Northport School District

Located on the north shore of Long Island, in western Suffolk County, the Northport-East Northport School District is the home of the Northport High School. This is the only high school in the United States, either public or private, offering to its students over 20 advanced placement courses, two national academy programs, the project "Lead the Way" and the International Baccalaureate Program.

The district's village has retained much of the charm of the 19th century when it was called "Great Cow Harbor" in reference to the cows pastured at the harbor's mouth. In 1837, the official name was changed to Northport becoming an active community blending a quiet suburban living with the facilities from the nearest New York City, including high standards in education programs.

Northport-East Northport School District offers six Elementary Schools, two Middle Schools and one High School, besides of continuing education and recreation programs, driver educations, summers school, a community theater and the School Heritage Museum.
