| South Street School is rich with history, dating back to 1928, when the oldest part of the building was built. The area then was mostly farms, and evidence of these rural surroundings still exists in the peaceful, open land that surrounds still exists in the peaceful, open land that surrounds the school. The original school consisted of just two classrooms and one room which held a small stage used for school plays. In its place today, we have a media center, the main office and the principal’s office. Over the years as the enrollment grew, two additions were built. The first addition was in 1968 and the second addition was added in 1974. The school now consists of twenty-three classrooms, a gym, cafeteria, media center, and offices. |
