Miller Place School District
With a long-standing legacy of educational excellence, the Miller Place School District has a reputation of ranking among the finest among those in New York State, with many excellent activities and academic programs, strong parent support, and overall high student attendance rates.
The mission of the schools in the Miller Place School District is to assist the students to achieve a successful future, developing a state of art curriculum with a highly collaborative relationship between the district's highly qualified, experienced teachers and the community.
At schools, students develop their skills within the frame of responsibility and honesty to earn trust and respect through their daily attitudes, dispositions and behaviors. The district also promotes the North Shore SEPTA, the special education parent teacher association, for students whose needs and requirements fall outside the general education domain.
As of March 2005, the SAT, a college admission exam was introduced to measures students' college success skills in reading, writing, math and critical reasoning and thinking, which are necessary for later academic success in college. |
