Saint Joseph's College

St. Joseph's College has set established goals in mind for each of their students which include the curricula that will give each student the knowledge and intellectual skills associated with the today's educated person, will encourage them to develop personal value, make responsible decisions, and the desire to participate in their local and global communities. They give direction for each student to develop as an entire person by giving individual attention, interactive teaching, and other opportunities for their participation in academic and extracurricular programs. They also strive to achieve the need of each individual student with varied educational and professional experiences and programs. To give each student an environment that is open to exploration and the understanding of diverse ideas, tradition, and cultures.

St. Joseph's College is a fully accredited College that has always been dedicated to providing the entire population of students in the New York metropolitan area with an education in which they can afford in the liberal arts tradition. They offer independent and co-educational classes for undergraduate and graduate level students. Again, in 2004, the third time in a row St. Joseph's College was ranked among some of the best colleges in America in the Bachelors Category for "Northern Comprehensive Colleges - Bachelor's". This ranking was conducted by U.S. News and World Report.

St. Joseph's College has two unique and wonderful campuses which includes Brooklyn Campus and Suffolk Campus.

Brooklyn Campus is located at 245 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11205 and their main telephone number is (718) 636-2147. This college located in Brooklyn is near so many wonderful cultural and educational facilities such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Public Library and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Manhattan, New York is just across the bridge and will give students even more educational and cultural environments in which to explore when they are not engrossed in their studies such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. On the Brooklyn Campus there are seven buildings which include and outdoor theatre. The beautiful historic brownstones that dot the campus are as beautiful as any you will see. The McEntegart Hall which is the main library for Brooklyn Campus was named by the New York State Education Commissioner as an Electronic Doorway Library. The Dillon Center was one of the first on the East Coast to offer a preschool for members of the community while also teaching students with Child Study majors.

The Suffolk Campus is located at 155 West Roe Boulevard, Patchogue, New York, 11772 and their main telephone number is (631) 447-3216. This campus is on the south eastern shore of Long Island and only a few minutes away from several other fascinating building and scenes such as the Great South Bay, LI MacArthur Airport, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Orient Point, and many of Long Island's ocean beaches. The campus includes six buildings and covers over 30 acres known as Gregg Alfano Field, which is beside a magnificent lake, the best place to study on a clear autumn afternoon. Other facilities of interest include The John A. Danzi Athletic Center, complete with an elevated track, six-lane pool, weight room, fitness center, and NCAA regulation basketball court, can seat 1,500 people. Opened in October of 2002, St. Joseph's new $8-million Business Technology Center is a state-of-the-art, 33,000-square-foot facility, housing classrooms, computer labs and faculty offices.

Both campuses offer classes for major's in the following studies:

Accounting, Biology, Business Administration, Child Study, Computer information systems, English, History, Human Relations, Mathematics, Psychology and Social Sciences. Both campuses offer classes for minor's in the following studies:

Business Administration, Computer information Systems, Computer Science, Economics, English, History, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, and Speech. Each campus also offers other courses of studies that may or may not be offered at both campuses including courses such as social Sciences Concentrations, Pre-Professional Programs, Special Offerings, Affiliated Programs, Certificate Programs, Career Readiness, and online programs.

There are several wonderful Scholarships and Grants available at St. Joseph's College at both campuses which include Board of Trustees Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, Blanche A. Knauth Scholarship, Sister George Aquin O'Connor Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, Other SJC Scholarships and SJC Grants, Federal Programs, and New York State Programs. Each campus does offer other grants and scholarships that are not available for both campuses.
