NYIT - New York Institute of Technology

The New York Institute of Technology is a professional education and career oriented institution. Founded in 1955 NYIT is located in New York and have three separate campuses, Old Westbury, Central Islip, and Manhattan. Students are offered wonderful opportunities to select classes from all three of the Technology facilities. The Central Islip is located in Suffolk County very close to the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. It offers computer labs, library, indoor swimming, gymnasium, and even a bowling alley plus many other useful services. Now the Manhattan campus is near by both Central Park and the Lincoln Center in New York City. It's perfect for students who want to explore all that New York has to offer, Broadway shows, concerts Greenwich Village and unique clubs and restaurants. The Old Westbury Campus is nestled in trees providing a laid back quit a nature type surrounding. It offers old gold coast history with lots to see and learn being located on Nassau's north shore. NYIT is also home to the famous de Seversky Center which is available for hosting your wedding or other special occasion.

The New York Institute of Technology provides education for around 11,000 students among the three campuses. It offers small class settings limiting students to 30 per class and you will often find some with just around 20.With its vast resources NYIT provides over 100 degree programs, which include undergraduate, graduate and professional.

NYIT endeavors to provide quality educations even for those of poor financial circumstances.

New York Institute of Technology support Graduates with its Career Network center with their on going commitment to the success of your education. They provide a Job bank for grads to search for employment, students post their resumes and employers post their career openings. The Career Network center also provides and on Campus Interviewing and Resume Collection program during the spring semester and December semester for graduates that are eligible to participate in the program. Additional support is provided by offering lessons on Business etiquette, Internship placement, Career Planning, Tip on Interviews and other valuable job search resources.

NYIT offers virtual degree programs that allow you to earn a fully accredit degree for the privacy of your own home and at the convenience of your own schedule. There are seven undergraduate programs and one graduate program:

New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Learning Center is designed to aid and also encourage you in learning direction and confidence when it comes to your own academic work. They also offer several service and publications that are free of charge to NYIT students to aid you with various issues to do with your course study and your learning skills.

Tutoring at New York Institute of Technology offers peer tutors on an individual, group or walk in environment for specific courses and other skills which include reading, writing and aid in study skills. All NYIT tutors hold a GPA of 3.0 in all subjects. They are also interviews and trained by quality staff and faculty.

If you need a tutor every effort will be made to match you with a tutor as soon as possible. You are asked to attend every session as this will ensure your success.

The New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Learning Center also from time to time offers workshops in such subjects as overcoming test anxiety, preparing for final exams and enhancing presentation skills. During these workshops, you will be working with other students in a relaxed atmosphere and a supportive environment. Demonstrations will be offered and supporting materials will be handed out for your use.
