Middle Country School District
The Middle Country is a school district of fine acheivements and even greater expectations for the future. It is our responsibility to foster a learning environment where expectations are high for all students and staff, and where we accept the obligation to "empower and inspire all students to apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be creative problem solvers, to achieve personal success and to contribute responsibly in a diverse and dynamic world."
Middle Country School District is governed by a body of 9 members that makes up our Board of Education. Members serve without pay for staggered, three-year terms. Candidates for the Board of Education must be qualified voters of the school district. They are nominated by a petition, signed by at least two percent of the number of voters in the last election.
Our School Board sets local district policy and is responsible to the New York State Board of Regents and the State Department of Education. The School Board appoints the Superintendent of Schools, who is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the schools. |
