Archer Street School

Archer Street provides powerful learning for young citizens and entrepreneurs. It has developed a mini-community of its own, "Archerville," with enterprises that mirror those of the "real world." Enhancing their regular studies, these students run more than two dozen businesses, including banking and recycling centers, a post office, a banking center, the Kid's Mart store, and an historical society and museum. A multimedia component provides children with arts and technology experiences as they publish magazines, create news broadcasts and interact with children in other communities via the internet. As an Accelerated School, "Archerville" offers a deeper understanding of community life and a strong bond with families through the Lightspan Partnership.
