Lawrence School District is committed to improving students’ achievement, enhancing the community harmony, assuring their success, by making the educational process a collaborative effort involving the entire school community. Teams comprised of parents, teachers, and Lawrence High School students, have joined to administrators and support staff, making possible a Shared Decision Making program to achieve a nurturing learning experience.
Strengthening communication with the population, the Lawrence Public School System reaches out to the diverse racial and ethnic communities, with significant improvements in student achievement, as well as reviewing, developing and approving policies meeting the program needs of students, and improving building safety and security.
At Lawrence School District, the office of Pupil Personnel Services also offers student support services in the areas of nursing, speech and language, occupational and physical therapy, guidance, psychology, social works, special education and other education related support services.
Curricular offerings range from basic skills in all major academic areas to particular skills sections for students needing special instruction or advance placement courses in art, music, chemistry, physics, biology, English, Spanish, French, American history, European history, computer, economics and government. |
