Smithtown Central School District
The mission of the Smithtown School District is educating students to stimulate and expand a lifelong learning process, developing moral, ethical and cultural values, and cultivating their understanding and appreciation of the rights and responsibilities of American citizens.
This district has been working on different plans with the goal to enable students to function effectively as independent individuals in a democratic society. Such plans include video on-demand and distance learning, along with traditional on-site curriculum, courses and programs.
Smithtown Central School District's educational program attempt to provide all students with the fundamental academic skills and basic knowledge required for their maximum educational development. The district pays also particular attention to the SEPTA (Special Education PTA) program, designed to help parents recommended for special needs children.
Additionally, the district offers child nutrition, athletics, adult education, mentor programs, alumni center and a total of 14 library media centers to round the students formation. |
