Patchogue-Medford School District
Proclaiming that "We work better when we work together", Patchogue-Medford Free School District has been awarded a federal grant to develop and implement character education programs, which goal is to instill positive character traits in students, as an implicit part of the public school curriculum.
With Tremont Elementary School as one of the recipients of the 2005 National School of Character Award, Patchogue-Medford School District also provides appropriate programs for IEP students, district-wide.
High schools meet the state's educational high standards in character education programs, including balanced arts and sciences programs aimed to develop citizens who will be analytical and critical thinkers, respecting another's opinion while assuming their responsibility in local affairs, developing a sense of pride in both school and community.
The district's Elementary and Middle Schools provide programs meeting the social, academic and emotional needs of all students, making sure all children feel important, working cooperatively with parents, teachers and the students through the different grades, and improving the instruction program outcomes in all State tests. |
