Locust Valley Elementary School is a community of learners.
It is a place where parents, teachers, students and support staff recognize that learning is a life-long process.
It is a place where high standards are set and maintained and where children are motivated to use these talents and take pride in their achievements.
It is a place where individual needs are respected and where instruction is differentiated to support each student's learning. All are encouraged to respect the uniqueness of others and to learn from one another.
Our school is located on two campuses. On campus houses the Primary School (K-2) and the other campus houses the Intermediate School (gr. 3-5).
The academic program is focused on being responsive to our students' needs and includes music, are, library and physical education. Our commitment to literacy, critical thinking and ethical values is evidenced throughout our interdisciplinary approach to the core curriculum.
Parents play a vital role in our school community both in term of support and in terms of their willingness to provide programs for extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities.
It is our hope that, with the combined efforts of all of the members of our school community, we prepare our students to be informed, productive citizens responsive to the needs of those around them and able to fully participate in a complex, interconnected global society.
