Sachem School District
Founded in 1955, Sachem Central School District is one of the largest school districts on Long Island with twelve Elementary Schools, four Middle Schools and two High Schools compassing residents of Holtsville, Farmingville and Holbrook, as well as some areas of Lake Ronkonkoma, Lake Grove, Nesconset and Ronkonkoma.
Sachem School District operates all the above schools with approximately 15,500 students, with a workforce of about 3,100 employees. The Elementary Schools formerly housed grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, but at the start of the 2004-2005 all its schools were reconfiguring, and all the Elementary School are now K-5, as there were also grade adjustments in all the other district's schools.
The mission of the Sachem School District is the formation of students who will graduate respectful and motivated as, lifelong learners, with the adequate preparation to succeed and contribute to their society, with the comprehensive, challenging, and relevant district's curriculum in its safe and nurturing environment. |
