I was in the first class of kindergarden students in 1965. I moved to upstate New York just one month before I graduated 6th grade. I loved being here. The teachers seem to care and made learning fun. I even remember my 5th grade teacher wanting to send me home because I wore pants to school which wasn't allowed. Us girls could wear pants under our dresses or skirts but they had to be removed at school. One last memory I would like to share was how the students were lined up for lunch or moving as a class down the hall. Girls were on the inside by the wall boys on the outside. We were not allowed to step outside the gold lines. Thanks for the great start in life! |
