Fire Island Woodhull School strives to prepare students for the future, the Board encourages the development of curricula designed to teach the skills of computing, problem-solving, creativity, analysis, syntheses, critical thinking, and communication. Students must also become aware of emerging global manner. Ultimately, students must assume responsibility for their own learning, in order to become self-directed, lifelong learners. Fire Island Woodhull School should stimulate and expand a continual learning process, and cultivate an understanding and appreciation of the rights and responsibilities of American citizens, which will enable students to function effectively as independent individuals in a democratic society.
