Long Beach Middle School

The middle school concept of education is an outgrowth of the special needs of students between the ages of 10 and 14. Children at this age face many changes in their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Some of these changes are obvious while others are not. In order to focus on the needs of this age group, middle school education must be child-oriented as well as subject centered. We believe students will succeed in a program that contains the personal relationships established in the elementary setting while being introduced to a departmental academic program common to secondary education.
